WHY MEASURING MATTERS

Bangles are typically rigid, meaning they don’t have the flexibility of a clasped bracelet

You Will Need to Know The Size of Your Hand – Since the bangle has to pass over your knuckles.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To get started, gather these items:

  • A flexible measuring tape (tailor’s tape works best).

  • If you don’t have one, a strip of paper, string, or ribbon will work too.

  • A ruler to measure the string or paper, if necessary.

1. Measure your wrist size (just to know how the bangle will fit once it’s on):

Step 1: Wrap the tape measure around the wrist bone, so that it fits snugly without feeling too tight or too loose;

Step 2: Mark where the tape measure overlaps. This is the exact circumference of your wrist.

2. Measuring your hand width:

Step 1: To measure the hand, position it as though putting on a bangle (tuck your thumb into the palm of your hand);

Step 2: Wrap the measuring tape around the knuckles including the thumb knuckle. Note the measurement at the point of overlap. This is your exact hand circumference/size.

To convert your hand circumference/size to inner diameter, you should multiply the hand circumference by 3.142..

For example…if your hand circumference measurement is 20cm, multiply 20 × 3.142 = 62.84. This gives you an inner diameter of 62.84mm (almost 6.3cm). So I would recommend a MEDIUM (65mm inner diameter) sized bangle to ensure a comfortable “putting on” and “taking off” of the bangle.

Or…use an online converter.

3.Measuring the diameter of an existing bangle that fits you well:

Place a straight ruler over the bangle and measure across its middle from one inner edge to the other. The measurement in mm/cm/inches will give you the correct internal diameter. If you have a bangle that fits you well, I recommend you use this method to determine the correct size for ordering.

STANDARD BANGLE SIZES

Here’s a quick guide to standard bangle sizes based on the inner diameter:

  • Small: 2.4 inches (60mm/6cm)

  • Medium: 2.6 inches (65mm/6.5cm)

  • Large: 2.8 inches (70mm/7cm)

  • X-Large: 3 inches (75mm/7.5cm)

  • XX-Large: 3.15 inches (80mm/8cm)
